Absolutely worth the slog. Were you alone up there, or does the beauty of the area mean there's an Everest-like queue of hikers?
We met two other parties during our 4-hour hike. But it was the last weekend in August, just past the peak of the wildflowers. One would expect fairly "heavy traffic" on such a day!
