My goodness, you're going through the whole snow menu. I know what you mean about the essential image of snow-clad pine trees. My mental image is bound up with Pauline Baynes' illustrations in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I can't see a pine tree with snow hanging heavy on its boughs without thinking of these.

Agree about LWW! Have you seen the recent movie? I thought they did an amazing job with that scene. It reminded me just of the Baynes illustrations.
